How to make Paneer at Home

Paneer, is an Indian cuisine, is a fresh and creamy cheese made by curdling hot milk with lemon juice or vinegar.

Paneer is also known as ponir, is a fresh acid set cheese common in the cuisine of the indian
subcontinent made made from buffalow milk and cow milk.

Today we will give you the best paneer recipe, it is also very simple and easy to make and only one ingredient is used to make paneer or cottage cheese.

Paneer Recipe or Cottage Cheese:

Ingredients:

  • 1 Litre of whole milk

  • 1/4 teaspoon of tartric acid or 4 teaspoon of lemon juice (or Vinegar )

  • Muslin cloth or cotton cloth

Steps:

  • Heat the milk in a heavy bottom pan

  • As the milk comes to boil, reduce the flame to low, add 1/4 teaspoon of tartric acid or lemon juice (vinegar) and continously stir the milk.

  • Once you see the clear seperation of curds and whey, turn off the heat.

  • If the seperation is not clear add little more tartric acid or lemon juice or vinegar

  • Allow the curds and whey to reach the room temperature

  • Take a cotton cloth strain the excess water of cotton cheese (curds) and using cold or normal water squeeze the whey of cotton cheese properly

  • After squeezin the whey put the cotton cheese in cold water for around 3 hours

  • And don't forget to put weight on cheese to get perfect shape and perfectly set paneer, so you can cut into cubes or the shape you want

  • Enjoy the paneer
